The Market Season is here!

Hello!

Did you hear? Our Farmers Markets open this weekend! It's a sure sign of Spring and our favorite time of the year. We're off to a bit of a cold start, and we hear from our farmers that they are two or three weeks behind last year. They can't compete with the weather, but despite the cold you'll still find plenty of locally grown produce as well as all the meats, cheeses, breads, and other specialty foods and artisan goods you love.

Produce Planner:
✔️ Microgreens
✔️ Spinach
✔️ Lettuce
✔️ Chard
✔️ Kale
✔️ Radishes
✔️ Green Onions
✔️ Herbs

Asparagus and rhubarb might make an appearance, but I'd expect you should arrive early to get first pick. And as any savvy market shopper knows... the best way to find out what's in season is to visit and take a look around! For those who have never visited the market, check out our handy guide on How To Shop the Market Like a Pro. And you or someone you know is on food assistance benefits, click here to learn more about using your Bridge Card at the market.

New Vendors Include:

Sacred Springs
Physic Kombucha
Cultured Love
Mason's Candles
Dog House Doughnuts
Peppermint Jim
Mark it with a B
Vogue Boogie
Troll Meds
Bankson Lake Farm
Lovers Lane Micro Farm

Kalamazoo Farmers Market:
Saturdays, 7-2pm May through November at 1204 Bank St.
The weekday markets won't open until June, and we have some exciting time changes to announce. Tuesdays will be held from 8-1pm, and Thursdays from 3-7pm. That's right, we're bringing back an afternoon market due to popular demand! Night Markets will open at 5pm this season, on Third Thursdays June through October.
Portage Market:
Sundays, 10-2pm May through October at 7900 S Westnedge
We're going into our third season over in Portage, and are really excited to be moving to a new location at Portage City Hall. We'll be set up right on the corner of Westnedge and Centre, just across the road from Water Street Coffee Joint. There's plenty of parking at City Hall, and also across the street at the shopping center. Feeling adventurous? Park over at Celery Flats and take a horse drawn carriage ride to the market from Noon to 2pm!

If you want to receive weekly updates from the market team, be sure to subscribe to our newsletter. You'll also find both the Kalamazoo Farmers Market and Portage Market on Facebook and Instagram. We promise to only spam you with copious amounts of produce photos to help keep you up to date on what's fresh.

See you at the market!
Gaby!
