New community space open

Kalamazoo, MI- PFC Natural Grocery & Deli opened a new community area for thirty people to eat, share ideas, and to provide an indoor space for community events. General Manager Chris Dilley, and members of the PFC board officially opened the community space with a ribbon cutting on Wednesday 1/24/18 at 11 AM.

The creative idea for the new community space was presented by one of the store owners to store General Manager Chris Dilley. According to PFC GM Chris Dilley "I'm excited to finally have more fully implemented the vision for this PFC store! When we built it in 2011, we wanted a sit down community space, and now we have it!"

The PFC Deli and hot food bar is one of the jewels of the operation according to Dilley “We make the most flavorful soups, hearty hot bar selections, great salad and sandwich options, and have a super fresh salad bar. Now people can meet up on their lunch hour, or pop in to grab something quick and groceries on their way home after work." The PFC Deli also features $5 meal deals all day every Wednesday with a housemade entree and sides created from organic ingredients.

When asked why this new community area was important for him, Dilley’s responded "For me, the Co-op is all about community. The uses of this sit down space will evolve as the community wants it to, but we're starting to imagine storytime brunches on weekends, food fairs featuring local vendors, hosting book clubs and movie showings.”
